Technical Manager

Job Title: Technical Manager
Type: 9-12 Month Contract
Location: Teesside
Hours: Monday – Friday

Role Summary

The Technical Manager will be responsible for the business Quality System. Ensuring that policies, procedures and work instructions that are critical to product safety, legality and quality are in place and are adhered to.
Drive continuous improvement in processes and output to achieve the longer-term goals of the site.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain & develop the site Quality Management System
  • Maintain & develop the site HACCP System
  • Manage & review the pest control contractors
  • Ensure hygiene standards are maintained to the highest possible level
  • Ensure site compliance with all aspects of legislation applicable to the drinks industry
  • Ensure site compliance with all requirements of customer and third-party QMS
  • Liaise with Production management across all levels daily
  • Liaise with Sales and Marketing in the development of new products
  • Liaise with all customers’ Technical Departments as required
  • Responsible for all aspects of the Technical Department
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary by the Director of Operations
  • This is not an exhaustive list but merely an overview of the main duties involved

Essential Requirements

  • Preferably educated to degree level in a science or engineering discipline
  • Experience working within a similar manufacturing environment
  • Have extensive experience of people leadership and development and in particular the development and improvement of KPIs and standards across work teams
